TD Bank promoted Christopher A. Turley to senior loan officer in commercial lending in Montpelier. He joined the bank in 1988.
The board of directors of the Charlotte Children’s Center announced that Nancy Elder, M.Ed., was hired as director. Elder was head of a New Canaan, Conn., preschool.
Kelliher Samets Volk marketing firm announced two promotions and several new hires. Promoted were Jennifer Le and Amy Bissonette. Le, who joined KSV in 2009, is a project coordinator. Bissonette, who joined the firm in 2006, is senior accounting specialist. Erin Fagnant was hired as project manager. She was with a Boston agency. Cybill Yanus was named accounts payable coordinator. She was with Maple Leaf Farm Associates. Tim White is information technology manager. He was with Macro International. Chris Michael was named associate media buyer. He was with the Burlington Free Press. Janine Allo was hired as brand coach. She has more than 20 years’ experience in leadership and management and teaches in the MBA program at Champlain College. Ashley Nicholls was named brand manager in the client group. She was with New Breed Marketing.
Dinse, Knapp & McAndrew PC announced that attorney David Scherr joined the firm’s civil litigation practice. A Vermont native, he was a judicial law clerk to the Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court.
Kenneth D. Gibbons, president and chief executive officer of Union Bank/Union Bankshares Inc., announced that David S. Silverman will succeed him as president. Silverman, a senior vice president of the Union Bank and vice president of Union Bankshares, will take his new position April 1 and will be named CEO in May 2012. He joined the bank in 1986.
Vermont Public Television hired George Hauenstein as chief development officer. He has 28 years’ experience raising funds for public broadcasting stations, most recently for WILL/Illinois Public Media in Urbana, Ill. For 20 years before joining WILL, he held development positions at WGBH in Boston.
Danine Warren joined Hampton Direct as product designer. Warren was art director at the Orvis Co.
Carmen George was named development and communications coordinator at Burlington College. George was with Good News Garage. Erin Elliott was hired as website content administrator and veteran outreach coordinator. Elliott, a former Vermont Army National Guard member, was with a Charlotte, N.C., firm. Angela Smith, PHR, is executive assistant to the president and the human resources coordinator. Greg Litchfield was named director of student life. Michael O’Malley was hired as director of facilities. He was with the South Burlington School District.
NPI announced that Chris Thompson joined its technical team to provide managed services support to Canopy contract clients. He has 11 years’ experience in technical support work.
John Wells, personal lines manager for Union Mutual of Vermont, will join the marketing team as a senior marketing representative. Wells joined the company in 2000. Deborah Balserus, CPCU, CIC, CPIW, was named underwriting manager. She was senior vice president at Hackett Valine & MacDonald. Union Mutual also announced the retirement of John Walker, senior vice president of the marketing and underwriting departments. Walker joined Union Mutual in 1976.
Otter Creek Engineering Inc. announced the addition of Craig Jewett and Nicole Mason as project engineers. Each has a bachelor of science in civil engineering. Jewett has three and a half years’ experience in civil design and permitting throughout southern Vermont. Mason is completing her master’s degree in community development and applied economics.
Jim Condos, Vermont secretary of state, named Brian Leven of Stowe deputy secretary of state.. Leven has been attorney for the Vermont Legislative Council for 12 years.
Paul Frank + Collins announced that Brenda Luciano joined the firm as an associate working with the property, development, business services, and litigation teams. Luciano was with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 4 in Atlanta.
Julia Andrews joined the account management team at Spike Advertising. She was in various sales, marketing, and operations positions at Charter Communications and Comcast, and founded her own marketing consultancy.
McSoley McCoy & Co. announced that Jerald Bowin joined the firm as a partner in the tax department. He has more than 20 years’ experience with a Big 4 accounting firm. Veronique Petrucci was hired as an accountant in the tax department. She was a member of KPMG’s tax department in Burlington.
Engineering Ventures announced that Matthew R. Ernst joined the staff. Ernst has a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and a master of science in civil engineering with concentration in structural engineering.
Marissa Parisi, executive director of the Vermont Campaign to End Childhood Hunger, announced the change of the organization’s name to Hunger Free Vermont, to more accurately reflect its work and commitment to the nutrition needs of adults and seniors as well as children.
David Rosen, RN, director of Griswold Special Care, Vermont, announced the addition of Linda Taylor as administrative assistant. Taylor has worked in the human services field for more than 30 years.
Bill Young, executive director of Maple Leaf Farm, announced the promotion of Lissa Carlino to addictions treatment counselor. She is in the graduate clinical mental health and substance abuse counseling program at Johnson State College.
AllEarth Renewables Inc. announced that Andrew Savage joined the senior management team as director of communications and public affairs. He was deputy chief of staff and legislative director for Rep. Peter Welch.
Tom Pelletier, president of Northfield Savings Bank, announced the following promotions. Tracy Davis was named branch manager of the bank’s Williston Road office. She joined NSB in 2005. Karen Cox was promoted to branch manager of the College Street office. She has been with the bank for two years. Jenna Long was named branch manager of the Essex office. She has been with NSB since 2001.
Thomas S. Leavitt, executive vice president of Merchants Bank, announced the promotion of Erin Pond to branch president of the Kennedy Drive branch. She has been with Merchants for 10 years. Simrat Applebaum was hired as marketing administrator. She was a marketing and public relations contractor to clients in Utica and Ithaca, N.Y.
