The Vermont Foodbank has opened a branch in Wolcott to house its program Salvation Farms. It is Vermont Foodbank’s first satellite branch. In an effort to acquire, store, and distribute food more effectively, the organization announced plans to open more branches around the state in the coming years. Central Vermont Primary Care

Lincoln Peak Vineyard

Chris and Michaela Granstrom announced the opening of Lincoln Peak Vineyard in New Haven. The celebration featured guided vineyard tours, tours of the newly built wine-making facility, and samples of their estate-bottled wines produced entirely from grapes grown in their vineyards. The Granstroms have been farming strawberries, apples, and grapes for 23 years. New developments in hardy grape varieties inspired their venture into wine. Stowe Mountain Lodge

Stowe Mountain Lodge, the centerpiece of Spruce Peak at Stowe, has opened its doors. The lodge features 139 guest rooms, a 21,000-square-foot spa and Cooper Wellness at Stowe, exclusive access to Stowe Mountain Club (an 18-hole mountain golf course designed by Bob Cupp), and a heated outdoor pool. On the property are boutiques, recreational activities, and more than 12,000 square feet of event space. Interiors showcase the work of Vermont artists such as glassblower Simon Pearce, furniture maker Charles Shackleton, pottery maker Miranda Thomas, woodworker Parker Nichols, blacksmiths from Hubbardton Forge, and local painters. Jaffe Communications, an independent full-service public relations, creative services and publishing agency with headquarters in Westfield, N.J., announced the opening of a Vermont office in the Northeast Kingdom to service clients in New England. The Busy Chef & Café

The Lodge at Otter Creek

Gregg Beldock, the owner of Bullrock Corp. of Shelburne, announced the opening of The Lodge at Otter Creek in Middlebury, a state-of-the-art resort-style, all-rental adult-living community. The $50 million project, consisting of 122 units on 36 acres, is the largest community of its kind in Vermont. The Healthy Hippie

Tarraleigh Silberberg announced the launch of The Healthy Hippie Magazine, a publication about green living and building, health, and live music. Debby DuBay, retired from the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Appraisers Association of America, opened Limoges Antiques Shop in Rutland. ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center announced the opening of Think! Café, a green-themed restaurant aimed at engaging diners in thinking about what they eat and the packaging they choose. Cooking at The Store

Recognizing the growing enthusiasm for cooking, Jackie Rose, the owner of The Store on Vermont 100 in Waitsfield for 43 years, announced the opening of Cooking at The Store in a state-of-the-art kitchen constructed in a large room adjacent to the back of the retail shop. Cooking at The Store will feature demonstrations, tastings, guest chefs, and lectures, in addition to community events. Moonlight Lady
